JOHANNESBURG - Deputy President Paul Mashatile is set to undertake a working visit to China in efforts to enhance bilateral collaboration, among other matters.

The two countries have had diplomatic ties for a little more than two decades now.

According to the Institute for Security Studies, South Africa is China’s biggest market in Africa.

Mashatile's visit seeks to advance the country’s supply chain and accelerate industrialisation.

The deputy president’s spokesperson, Keith Khoza, said that Mashatile would be attending the China International Supply Expo.

"The purpose is to participate in the China International Supply Chain Expo called (CISCIR) as one of the key engagements. In its third year, it's the world's first national-level export dedicated to global supply chains. It is hosted under the auspices of the Chinese central government and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade."
