JOHANNESBURG - The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has revived the murder case of Hillary Gardee, the daughter of Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president, Godrich Gardee.

The case went cold in April 2023 when the NPA provisionally withdrew the charges against the four men accused of killing Hillary after a State witness turned up dead.

On Monday, convicted Facebook murderer, Rassie Nkuna, appeared at the Mbombela High Court, where he stands charged with killing Hillary.

The man accused of being behind the killing of Hillary Gardee is Rassie Nkuna, a convicted murderer with a long history of being on the wrong side of the law.

Nkuna was released on parole in January 2022 after serving his sentence for a cash-in-transit heist.

Following his release on parole, Nkuna went on a killing spree, murdering at least five people in one year.

Two months after his release, Nkuna kidnapped and killed Lucky and Sabeliwe Mogashoa in front of their six-year-old child.

A month later, Nkuna allegedly strangled Hillary Gardee to death.

Then, a month after Hillary’s murder, Nkuna shot and killed his girlfriend and her sister, Pretty and Marcia Mazibuko.

The Hillary Gardee murder case has been transferred to the Mpumalanga High Court for trial on 31 October.
