Freedom Park in Tshwane came alive on Sunday as thousands of enthusiastic walkers gathered for the annual 702 Walk the Talk - a flagship event for both the station and its parent company, Primedia Broadcasting.
The day promised not only a scenic walk but also a celebration of unity, heritage, and community spirit.
Jojwana described the gathering as more than just a walk.
"So it's all about coming together...people from all walks of life, walking on the streets, claiming the streets...it's one thing to talk about this...it's actually quite another thing to walk the streets and have a sense of ownership."
- Mzoxolo Jojwana, Chief Content Officer at Primedia
This year’s walk is especially meaningful as 702 celebrates its 45th anniversary and reflects on recent milestones, including being named Radio Station of the Year.
The event features music, community engagement, and appearances by well-known 702 personalities, all reinforcing the station’s ongoing connection with its listeners across Gauteng.
