JOHANNESBURG - Murder-accused Tiffany Nicole Meek will know on Tuesday if she will be released on bail.

Judgement in her application is expected to be delivered in the Roodepoort Magistrates Court in the morning.

Meek is accused of murdering her 11-year-old son Jayden-Lee Meek in May.

The State insists it has a strong case against Meek, and it has opposed her release on bail.

Prosecutor Linda Duma said evidence points to Meek’s apartment being the last place Jayden was before his death.

“There is no evidence nor any suggestion that Jayden would have befriended anyone else in that complex. There is no evidence nor any suggestion that he had a habit of going to any other unit except for his residence."

But Meek’s lawyer, Novel Naidoo, has criticised the State's evidence, describing it as flawed and inconsistent.

“There is no evidence before this court that there is an eyewitness that can confirm that Jayden was in the company of the applicant after he had been dropped off on the afternoon of the 13th of May 2025 and that she was the last person who was seen with him.”
