Muizenberg man shot and killed, 2nd victim hospitalised

CAPE TOWN - A man was shot and killed in Overcome Heights in Muizenberg on Saturday.

Police said the fatal incident happened last night in Rasta Street, where a second victim was reportedly wounded and taken to the hospital.

This comes on the back of another shooting in Seawinds, also on Saturday night, which left three people dead.

The motive behind the Overcome Heights shooting is still unclear; however, police are investigating cases of murder and attempted murder.

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg said no arrests have been made yet.

“According to reports, unknown suspects fired shots in the direction of the victims. The adult male was declared deceased on the scene by medical personnel, while the other victim was taken to a medical facility for medical treatment.”
