Muizenberg police probing fatal shooting incident in Overcome Heights informal settlement

CAPE TOWN - Police deployed in Muizenberg continue their investigations into the shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening, where a body was discovered in the Overcome Heights informal settlement.

The victim was declared dead after unknown suspects allegedly fired shots in the victim's direction.

Another person was shot and was rushed to a nearby facility.

Police spokesperson, Wesley Twigg, said the motive for the attack was yet to be determined and the suspects were yet to be arrested.

"Muizenberg police registered murder and attempted murder cases for investigation following a shooting incident on Saturday, 16 August 2025, at about 19:30, in Rasta Street, Overcome Heights, in which an adult male was shot and fatally wounded and another wounded."
