Odwa Jack and Nokuthula Matyeseni were linked to Lolitha Kowa's girl's murder after bloodstains believed to be that of the little girl were found inside their home.

She was last seen playing with Matyeseni's daughter at the couple's home on 22 July.

Disturbing details emerged in court two weeks ago, revealing how Lolitha was sexually assaulted.

Residents of Khayelitsha have submitted a petition to the court asking for bail to be denied.

Some family members of the accused have rejected their requests to stay with them should they be released on bail.
