KZN transport dept reaches out to provincial e-hailing council after drivers shot in KwaDabeka

JOHANNESBURG - The KwaZulu-Natal transport department says it's reached out to its provincial e-hailing council in an effort to restore peace and calm following the shooting of e-hailing drivers in KwaDabeka, north of Durban.
Two e-hailing drivers were wounded after they were allegedly assaulted and shot at by taxi operators at KK Section.
One other e-hailing vehicle car was also shot at during the incident.
Provincial Transport MEC Siboniso Duma said the department would be working with KZN Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi to restore stability and locate the perpatrators.
Spokesperson Ndabezinhle Sibiya: "In addition, the MEC has mandated the provincial regulatory entity, Operation Shanela, to work with other law enforcement officers, in order to avoid the repeat of what we witnessed in Maponya Mall."
