JOHANNESBURG - Police in Limpopo have opened an inquest following the death of three children believed to have died in a blaze at their home.
It is understood that police received a call about a house that was on fire with children trapped inside in Itsane village on Friday.
After fire teams managed to extinguish the blaze, the three bodies believed to be children between the ages of 2 and 4 were found burned beyond recognition.
Police Spokesperson Malesela Ledwaba said the cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
"The cause of fire is unknown at this stage. Provincial police commissioner LT General Thembi Hadebe has directed that experts be summoned to assist with investigations," said Ledwaba.
