Madlanga Commission: Head of SAPS legal division begins testimony

The head of the South African Police Service (SAPS) legal division, Major-General Petronella van Rooyen, is appearing before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry on Thursday.
Van Rooyen is the third witness to testify at the commission investigating corruption within the police service.
She will provide legal insight into the instruction by police minister, Senzo Mchunu, to disband the KZN Political Killings Task Team.

She has so far outlined her reporting line.
"I report to the divisional commissioner, legal services, and we are part of the support services, deputy national commissioner. In other words, that would be either General [Lineo] Nkhuoa or General [Puleng] Dimpane and thereafter the National Commissioner."
