The South African Police Service has reiterated its commitment to deliver a credible report in the matter of three constables who were found dead in the Hennops River.

The bodies of Constables Cebekhulu Linda, Keamogetswe Buys, and Boipelo Senoge were recovered earlier this year, prompting calls for answers from their families and their wider community.

It is believed the trio's vehicle plunged into the river while they were en route to Limpopo on a work assignment.

SAPS spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says both police and private specialists have submitted reports, but final toxicology and other key tests are still outstanding.

"Preliminary post-mortem reports have been received, but the final reports, which will include blood alcohol results, toxicology, and histology, are still awaited. These findings are critical before the investigation can be concluded. In addition, analysis of physical evidence is still underway. This process is complex as the SAPS relies on external specialists for certain examinations. While the SAPS accident expert report has been finalised, it is not in itself conclusive. The outcome of this investigation depends on a combination of all expert findings."
