ActionSA rallies behind Xolani Khumalo as Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate

Political party ActionSA says it has no issue with the lack of political experience in its mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni, Xolani Khumalo.

The party unveiled Khumalo as its candidate for Ekurhuleni at a packed Dominion Life Cathedral International Church in Tembisa on Saturday.

Khumalo is a popular crime-fighting activist with limited political experience.

But party leader Herman Mashaba has rallied behind Khumalo, highlighting that when he became mayor of Johannesburg, he had zero governance experience.

He says Nasiphi Moya also had limited experience when ActionSA put her forward as mayor of Tshwane.

Mashaba says Khumalo has the party’s full backing.

“We want him and expect him to get us the votes so that he can become the mayor. Once he is the mayor, then I can assure the people of SA, we will put the best of the best of South Africans – black and white – around him to ensure they can serve our residents before they can serve their stomachs,” he said.

Mashaba says ActionSA will be announcing more mayoral candidates soon.
