Two of the 14 accused on trial with alleged underworld gang boss, Nafiz Modack, are making moves in attempts to be released on bail.
Modack and his co-accused face 122 charges for various crimes, including murder, extortion, fraud, corruption and money laundering.
The matter was postponed again on Monday after a lengthy six-month break.
One of the accused who intends to apply for bail is Toufeek Brown, who is also known as "Bubbles", and is alleged to be the leader of the Terrible West Siders gang, which operates in Woodstock.
Brown faces charges for allegedly using his gang to orchestrate murders on behalf of Modack.
The other accused is Jacques Cronje, who is believed to be "the muscle" in Modack's nightclub security firm.
Lawyer for both accused, Inger Jansen, said she filed affidavits for her clients' bail applications in June this year.
"I have filed affidavits in respect of the bail application for accused number four and accused number eight and during this period of this coming week. I will liaise with State to find what is happening in terms of getting the proposing affidavits."
The matter will be back in court on Monday pending the availability of the presiding judge.
