Some residents in the City of Tshwane will experience a temporary water supply interruption on Saturday, as the city’s water and sanitation business unit undertakes urgent work to replace damaged water meters in the Pretoria CBD.

The critical maintenance work began at 8 o'clock on Saturday morning and is set to end at 4 in afternoon, affecting areas in Pretoria CBD and parts of Pretoria west.

Spokesperson Lindela Mashigo is urging residents in these areas to store enough water for household use during the interruption.

"The City of Tshwane's water and sanitation business unit, will today 11 October 2025 replace the damaged water meters, in the Pretoria CBD. This essential and inevitable work is anticipated to take 8 hours. The City of Tshwane profusely apologizes for the inconvenience that may be encountered during the water supply interruption," said Mashigo.
