Alleged baby snatcher, Sameemah Jacobs, is due back in the Belville Magistrate's Court on Wednesday after allegedly abducting a nine-day-old baby.

Jacobs, who is charged with kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice, allegedly pretended to be three different women in her plot to abduct the child.

The Mitchells Plain woman allegedly abducted baby Imaad from his mother, Imaan Sharmar, in Middestad Mall in June this year.

The accused is out on bail but has been given strict instructions to stay out of Mitchells Plain, where the baby resides.

When the matter was last in court, Baby Imaad's mother, Sharmar, left the court in tears after Jacobs was granted R4,000 bail.

The magistrate ruled in Jacobs' favour, saying her lawyer provided exceptional circumstances, when he argued she had a minor child who needed parental care.

Jacobs, who is now under house arrest, has been ordered to stay out of Strandfontein and Mitchells Plain and to report to a designated police station daily.

The accused was also ordered not to have any contact with Sharmar or any other State witnesses in the matter.
