With matric exams just a day away Basic Education Minister Siviwe Gwarube will outline the country’s readiness to deliver a smooth and secure exam season.
Gwarube will host a media briefing in Skukuza, Mpumalanga on Monday ahead of the 2025 National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams, which begins on Tuesday until 27th of November.
The minister is expected to detail the number of registered candidates, the distribution of exam centres across provinces, and support measures in place to help learners prepare.
She will also highlight any security threats identified and the mitigation strategies being implemented to protect the integrity of the exams.
Minister’s spokesperson, Terrence Khala said, the annual NSC exams are a key milestone in South Africa's basic education sector and the briefing will see the minister announce key metrics and statistical data around the exams.
