Police Minister Senzo Mchunu has told MPs that there's no evidence linking him to any criminal activity.

The embattled minister has also denied having any connections to attempted murder accused Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.

Mchunu was back in Parliament on Tuesday to answer questions from MPs before the ad hoc committee investigating allegations of police corruption and interference.

Mchunu appeared for a third day to face more questions about his decision to disband the political killings task team.

Mchunu was also grilled about questionable links to individuals implicated in alleged corrupt activity, like Matlala.

The minister told the inquiry that he had never laid eyes on Matlala and only got to know of his name last December.

He also said there was no proof that he had committed any crime.

"Nobody out there has any confirmation of anything between me and Matlala, absolutely nothing. People must investigate anything linked to it but they still do it on national television without a piece of evidence."

Mchunu will return to Parliament on Wednesday for a fourth day of questioning before former minister, Bheki Cele, takes the hot seat on Thursday and Friday.
