The mother of the 16-year-old Milnerton High School learner who was allegedly assaulted by a group of older boys at the school said she wants justice for what happened to her son.

The mother of the 16-year-old learner who was beaten by a group of Grade 11 learners, was at the Milnerton Police Station earlier on Wednesday to accompany her son while he made a statement.

"Right now we are still at the police station, but we are not okay," she said. "I'm in disbelief and very, very hurt about what happened to our kid."

Despite eight of the learners now being suspended, she said she's not satisfied with the way the school has handled the incident.

"I am not happy because this incident happened last week already," she stated. "They keep on saying they will let us know what's happening, but they didn't come back to us."

She said the suspension of the alleged perpetrators is not enough, and she wants to see the law take its course.
