SA rapper Blxckie bringing summertime feels with new single ‘U Must Neva’

South African rapper Blxckie, real name Sihle Sithole, continues to dominate the hip-hop scene.

The 25-year-old from Durban, known for his unique sound that blends hip-hop and trap, exploded onto the scene in 2021 with his debut album B4Now.

Speaking to 947’s Zweli Mbhele, he credits his sound to growing up in Durban.

"The way that we consumed music was different. When I got to Jozi, it was a breath of fresh air," said Sithole.

His unique blend has seen him work with several industry greats, including Cassper Nyovest, with whom he has a new single on the way.

U Must Neva will be released on Friday, 31 October.

"It’s a summertime banger with summertime feels. It's nostalgic," he said.

Away from the studio, Sithole had a phenomenal run on Deal or No Deal Celebrity.

His cool, calm, and collected persona saw him overcome the hot seat to walk away with R63,500 for U-turn Homeless Ministries.

"It was dope, just being there and being able to play and be part of a game that you know you’ve been watching so much. The anxiety was crazy because what if I come out with R5?"
