Beloved Afrikaans sports commentator Johnny Davids has passed away at the age of 49.
SuperSport confirmed that the presenter and musician had passed early on Thursday morning.
Taking to social media, the broadcasting network shared condolences to the Davids’ family.
“A cherished voice in our rugby and cricket coverage since 2012, Johnny will be profoundly missed by the entire SuperSport family.”

Originally from Namibia, Davids became a well-known voice for rugby and cricket coverage.
He also ventured into music and radio broadcasting.
Radio Tygerberg also paid homage to Davids, describing him as an "award-winning TV host, sports commentator, radio host and singer”.
“He was known for his sincere Afrikaans music and strong bond with fans. Many remember him as a humble ‘voice of the people’. A man after God's heart.”
