Mrs South Africa is a pageant and a women’s empowerment program that celebrates married women across South Africa.

The platform offers participants a journey of self-discovery, highlighting 'bona fide' married women from diverse creeds, cultures, abilities, and religious backgrounds. Open to women aged 25 to 55, Mrs South Africa seeks confident, ambitious, and relatable participants who strive to be the best versions of themselves.

The current Mrs South Africa title holder is Erin-Jane Miller (42) from Fourways, Johannesburg.

Among the Top 30 Mrs South Africa finalists for 2025 is Talitha Oosthuizen (42), from Johannesburg. A passionate entrepreneur, Oosthuizen co-owns several businesses under the Bush Whisper Group, including Bush Whisper Expeditions and Bush Whisper Apparel. She also models, appears in music videos, and owns a beauty salon.

Oosthuizen enters Mrs South Africa for the second time, saying this time, she is a different person. "I feel that dream is still in my heart. I still have that passion, and I want to fulfil it with who I am now."

Despite her busy schedule, Oosthuizen credits her strong support system, especially her husband of 15 years, for encouraging her to take on the Mrs South Africa journey.

"My husband is so supportive, and he just knows that I'm a busy woman, but he can't diminish that light, so he just lets me fly. He's there when I have my moments when I'm in the shadows and there's a tear that I shed because let's face it, we have those days, when we self-doubt and don't know in what direction we're going, and he's there to pick me up. So, I am coping because I have a team surrounding me who said, 'Go, and do your thing, we've got you.'"

Oosthuizen believes that modelling has no expiry date. “There is no age limit; there’s a place for every age.” She plans to use her platform to advocate against human trafficking, support vulnerable children and people with disabilities, and contribute to anti-poaching initiatives.

"As a child, I experienced injustice. My mom saw that it is diminishing my life, and that is why she said, 'Let me just get this little girl her dream and let her start modelling again and just bring back her confidence.'"

Oosthuizen also explains that the 'injustice' she experienced led to heartbreak and an eating disorder, which she has overcome and hopes to inspire others with her story.

"This platform and pageantry helped me to also tell girls and women who respond to this that there is hope, there is inspiration, you can get out of that struggle. I want to be that voice for them."

Up next for finalists is the Mrs South Africa Preliminary Competition at the Theatre of Marcellus, Emperors Palace, on Thursday, 13 November 2025 at 6 pm.

This highly anticipated event will see the Top 30 finalists take part in their swimwear, eveningwear, and onstage question sections of judging in front of a live audience, before the cr
owning takes place on 14 November.
