The family of a Mamelodi man who was shot in an ordeal that claimed the lives of two young women said he has been left severely wounded.

Desmond Senong was shot in the early hours of Sunday morning, allegedly by the same man who is accused of killing 21-year-old Baleseng and 22-year-old Tshiamo Moramaga.

The women were shot and left for dead metres from the home after a night out in Mamelodi East.

Tebogo Mnisi, 38 years old, appeared in court on Wednesday on five charges, including two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

He has abandoned bail.

Senong was out partying at a local establishment in Mamelodi East on Saturday night, together with cousins Tshiamo and Baleseng Moramaga.

His sister, Mpho Masingi, said that’s when the accused, Mnisi, who is believed to be one of the women’s boyfriends, saw them.

"They partied the whole night until they decided to leave at 02.30 in the morning. He left with another lady. As soon as he left and walked through one of the passages, the accused followed him and stopped him. That’s when he shot him, but my brother managed to escape and get home, where he called for help."

Masingi said Senong was shot twice in his private parts.

She said he was discharged from hospital on Tuesday but has since returned after having a difficult night.
