Launching the anti-human trafficking campaign on Wednesday, the chair of committees, Dolton Adams, admitted that Gauteng had the highest number of reported trafficking cases.

The campaign will focus on enhancing border security, increasing awareness and using intelligence to identify threats of these organised schemes.

"It's important that the criminal justice system must sort itself out, the police that are trained and that are aware to make sure that they are able to deal with such crimes of human trafficking and issues that relate to the counselling and the management of victims," said community safety portfolio committee chair Bandile Masuku.
