Morero says headway being made in addressing Joburg’s water challenges

Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero insists the city is making headway in addressing water challenges in the metro.
On Saturday, frustrated residents took to the streets demanding that officials address persistent water cuts.

Many complained that they are forced to travel long distances during water outages to access the tankers provided by the metro
Speaking outside the Johannesburg Council Chambers where the demonstrators gathered, Morero said only a few areas in the city are in a critical water state.
"We have resolved the problem in Coronation. People in formal settlements, we supply them with water. We have put up static tanks, and we provide them with water tankers. On a daily basis, we ensure that the supply of water." Morero said.
