‘Frankenstein’ number 1 on Netflix in 72 countries

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro has reimagined Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for Netflix.
The film claimed the top spot in 72 countries, appearing in the top 10 in 93.
According to the latest Netflix rankings, released Tuesday (11 November), Frankenstein debuted at number one among English-language films, racking up 29.1 million views, equivalent to 73.6 million hours watched.
Netflix released the film in theatres for three weeks before its debut online.
Frankenstein began its theatrical run on 17 October in New York and Los Angeles, and selected theatres elsewhere on Friday, 24 October.
Critics are praising Netflix for the dual-platform release.
