Randburg office park fire contained

Joburg emergency services have managed to contain a fire that broke out at an office park in Randburg on Wednesday afternoon.

The emergency department said that a blaze could be seen coming from a building on the corner of West Avenue and Oxford Road.

Spokesperson Xolile Khumalo said that when emergency teams arrived, they found that the fire had caused the roof of the building to collapse, leaving the property with significant structural damage.

She said that no injuries had been reported at this point and fire teams have managed to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby property.

"EMS fire inspectors will conduct their investigations as soon as firefighting operations have been completed."
