Court hears Phiri was wearing security guard uniform when he allegedy raped a victim

The Pretoria High Court has heard that alleged Ekurhuleni serial rapist Sipho Lucas Phiri was wearing his security guard uniform when he allegedly raped one of his victims.
Phiri has recounted before court the 2018 Tembisa incident, where he allegedly gave a woman a lift after she had knocked off from work.

He claims he proposed a casual sexual relationship to her and offered to pay R1,000 towards transport fare.
Phiri testified on Wednesday before the Benoni Magistrates Court, claiming she accepted the offer and they had consensual sex in his car.
He faces more than 100charges of rape, kidnapping, obstruction of justice and pointing a firearm, among others.
Defence attorney Marianne Mapuru asked about what else he had in his car on the night of the incident.
“On the night in question, were you carrying one of two firearms?”
“Only one,” Phiri replied.
