Fire chief Reynhard Geldenhuys said that no properties are in danger, but strong winds and hot temperatures continue to hamper firefighting.

Firefighters have managed to extinguish most of the firelines at the Houw Hoek fire near Grabouw. 

The mountain fire started on Monday. 

Fire chief Reynhard Geldenhuys said that no properties are in danger, but strong winds and hot temperatures continue to hamper firefighting.

"We have one line still active on the northern side of the Houw Hoek mountains. We are also consolidating the lines that were extinguished during the night. And we'll keep on working it until we get it extinguished."
