US revokes former minister Naledi Pandor’s Visa without explanation

Former International Relations Minister and chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Foundation, Naledi Pandor, has had her United States visa revoked.

Pandor confirmed to Eyewitness News that she was informed of the decision in an email from the United States Consulate this week.

She returned from her most recent visit to the US this week.

After retiring from active politics last year, Naledi Pandor was granted a multiple-entry visitor’s visa for short-term stays in the United States.

In July, she delivered a keynote address at the United Nations in New York to commemorate Nelson Mandela International Day, where she advocated for a more just world.

“I’ve no understanding of why my visa has been revoked. There’s no explanation offered. According to the section mentioned in the email, no reasons need to be provided by the United States,” she said.

Pandor was instrumental in the launch of South Africa’s genocide case against Israel in the International Court of Justice – which US President Donald Trump’s administration rejects.
