Wednesday's hearing at the Madlanga Commission investigating police corruption has been postponed allowing a witness more time to prepare his testimony.
The head of KwaZulu-Natal Hawks, Major General Lesetja Senona, was due to testify.
However, the evidence leader, Mathew Chaskalson, said an agreement was reached with Senona’s lawyers to postpone his hearing until January next year.
Judge Mbuyiseli Madlanga read the agreement into record.
“The following is ordered. One, it is recorded that General Senona is in possession of all documents emanating from the commission that he requires to consider for the purposes of preparing his witness statement.
“Two, General Senona will furnish to the commission on or before 16 January 2026, a sworn statement addressing the issues listed in the subpoena dated 13 November 2025 for him to appear to give evidence before the commission. Three, General Senona will appear before the commission on 27 January 2026 at 9:30am to testify and be questioned.”
