SA Tourism says the upcoming Surf Expo Africa will showcase how South Africa's oceanfront culture can be leveraged for sustainable economic growth and job creation.
The event, taking place from 28 to 30 November at the Cape Town International Convention Centre, forms part of its broader mandate to attract both leisure visitors and major business events to the country.
According to SA Tourism’s Thandiwe Mathibela, the expo is expected to draw domestic and international audiences, offering a platform to highlight South Africa’s coastal attractions, blue-flag beaches, accommodation, cuisine and arts.
"From a domestic market, it gives an opportunity for us to showcase the best of ourselves. It's quite a big deal from a domestic perspective, but also from an international perspective. It gives us an opportunity to showcase that we can actually host business events and that we do have a very diverse offering in South Africa."
