Lucky Montana has stepped down as a Member of Parliament for the Umkhonto Wesizwe Party. 
  
Montana posted on his X account that he wrote to the party's parliamentary leadership earlier this year, informing them he intends to vacate his seat. 
  
Montana has not given reasons for stepping down.

The former PRASA boss is currently involved in a bitter public spat with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) over his unpaid R55-million tax bill.
