Afternoon showers and possible thunderstorms are forecast for Johannesburg and Pretoria for Friday, while Cape Town can expect mostly dry conditions with strengthening winds.

Johannesburg and Pretoria are set for warm and unsettled weather tomorrow, with daytime peaks in the high 20s°C and a good chance of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms, according to AccuWeather.

Johannesburg is expected to reach around 30 °C during the day, with winds around 10–15 km/h.

Pretoria will see similar warmth with highs of 28–29 °C, and winds generally 10–15 km/h, with storm gusts possible. Rain chances increase in the late afternoon into the evening, and humidity will be relatively high.

Residents should be prepared for sudden downpours and gusty winds across Gauteng later in the day, and UV exposure will be high before the clouds build.

Expect mostly dry and mild conditions in Cape Town, with a high around 24 °C and a low near 18–19 °C. Winds will be sustained near 20–30 km/h with gusts up to 50 km/h, especially in the afternoon along the coast. Seas may be choppy at times due to the northwest to west-northwest winds.
