Cape Town will have warmed up sharply by Monday while Johannesburg and Pretoria face possible morning rain and thundershowers on Saturday before clearer, sunnier conditions return.

Weather conditions across South Africa will vary this weekend, with Cape Town warming rapidly into early next week while parts of Gauteng may see rain or thundershowers on Saturday morning before clearer conditions return, according to AccuWeather.

Cape Town will start the weekend with cool and breezy conditions.

On Saturday, temperatures are expected to reach 21°C, dropping to 14°C overnight. The day will bring some clouds followed by sunshine, with breezy conditions and SSE winds around 37 km/h.

Conditions warm significantly on Sunday with plenty of sunshine and a high of 28°C and a low of 16°C. Winds will ease to SE 15 km/h.

By Monday, temperatures climb sharply to 31°C, with a low of 19°C. The day will be very warm with plenty of sun, accompanied by light SSE winds around 9 km/h.

Johannesburg could see a touch of rain in the morning on Saturday, with conditions becoming warmer later as clouds decrease.

The city is forecast to reach 27°C, with a low of 13°C and a 55% chance of precipitation. Winds will be SSW at around 11 km/h.

Sunday will be cooler, with a high of 22°C and a low of 9°C. The morning will be breezy, followed by pleasant sunshine and areas of low clouds. Winds will shift to ESE at 17 km/h.

On Monday, Johannesburg will see plenty of sunshine with temperatures rising to 24°C and a low of 10°C. Winds remain ESE at 13 km/h.

Pretoria may experience thunderstorms in spots on Saturday morning before clouds decrease later in the day.

Saturday’s high is forecast at 30°C with a low of 16°C, and a 55% chance of precipitation. Winds will be WSW at around 9 km/h.

Sunday brings partly sunny skies with a high of 24°C and a low of 12°C. Conditions will be breezy in the morning and less humid later, with ESE winds at 20 km/h.

By Monday, Pretoria will be mostly sunny and pleasant, reaching 26°C with a low of 12°C. Winds remain ESE at 15 km/h.
