Manhunt underway for suspects linked to murder of two women in Johannesburg

Gauteng police are searching for the suspects behind the murder of two young women from Evaton.

The 25-year-olds, Nontokozo Mazibuko and Andiswa Sontangane, were last seen on 30 December last year.

Their families reported them missing on New Year’s Eve, prompting police to launch a search.

Police on Thursday discovered their bodies in Poortjie, south of Johannesburg.

Gauteng police spokesperson Mavela Masondo says a case of double murder has been opened.

“A team consisting of various units of the south african police service was established to search for the victims. A case of double murder has been opened for investigation, and police are following some leads.”
