The Democratic Alliance ( DA) said it will release a statement soon in response to Dion George announcing that he has quit the party.

In an exclusive interview with ENCA on Thursday, George read out his statement announcing that he is cancelling his membership and resigning as a member of parliament.

The Former Forestry, Fisheries, and Environment Minister alleges that he was being pushed out of the party.

George served as the party’s federal finance chair – and during his tenure, he accused Steenhuisen of abusing the party’s credit card.

We’ll have more on this story as it develops.
