The Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court has highlighted that there is overwhelming evidence linking 44-year-old Victor Majola to the murder of Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras.
Earlier on Monday, the court denied the Soweto taxi boss’s bid for bail. Majola stands accused of allegedly orchestrating the DJ’s demise.
Stock was shot and killed on December 16 in the Johannesburg CBD by an unidentified gunman. According to court proceedings, Majola was reportedly identified by a witness at the scene of the shooting earlier that day.
Magistrate Annelise Tlhapi stated that she believes Majola poses a risk to society and noted the strength of the prosecution's evidence.
"It is apparent to this court that the state has a strong case, if not overwhelming case against the applicant," Tlhapi said. "As the applicant was positively identified at the ID parade. There is the witness who saw him at the scene of the crime as he was seated with the shooter."
