A man allegedly wanted by Interpol for drug trafficking has been found working at a Constantia Virgin Active as a personal trainer.

Reporting on the latest viral news stories, Primedia Digital Content Editor Barbara Friedman said that a story involving personal trainer Stan Stamenov broke on Monday.

“On the wall at Virgin Active, they have a photograph with a biography of every personal trainer that you can hire to work with, and there he is, his picture is on the wall.”

The name Stanislav Sevdanilov Stamenov appears under the ‘red notice’ section of the Interpol website, indicating he is wanted in Romania in connection with alleged drug trafficking.

It has also been reported that Stamenov previously worked as a bodyguard for Krasimir Kamenov, one of four Bulgarian nationals allegedly killed in Cape Town in May 2023.

Virgin Active has confirmed that the trainer has been suspended pending internal processing.
