The man accused of killing media personality Warrick Stock, otherwise known as DJ Warras, will remain in custody until next week.
A 25-year-old Mozambican national briefly appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
Armindo Pacula was arrested by police on Friday evening on Gauteng’s East Rand.
Pacula is believed to be the person who shot and killed Stock on 16 December in 2026 in Johannesburg’s CBD.
The Mozambican national was arrested at the Marathon informal settlement in Primrose.
He is believed to be involved in illegal mining activities in the region.
Prosecutor Vincent Mochabela read out the charges that the 25-year-old faces in relation to the murder of Stock.
“The accused is facing the charges of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit murder and he is also facing contravention of Section 49 of the Immigration Act because he is illegally in the country.”
The case was postponed to next week Monday for further investigation.
Pacula's Legal Aid lawyer indicated he intends to apply for bail, which the State opposes.
