'Broken promises, empty taps': Joburg residents picket amid protracted water outage

Residents in the south of Johannesburg are picketing on Thursday morning demanding for water to be restored.
People in Ormonde, Winchester and Crown Gardens say they have been without supply for weeks now.
Gauteng has been hit by intermittent water supply since last month with other places living with dry taps.
Johannesburg south residents are singing and chanting over the Xavier Bridge on holding placards.
Some of them read “broken promise, empty taps”, “people over profit”, and “no water no peace”.
Community leader Zubair Patel said they have been without a drop of water in these areas for four days now.
“We are out here on the streets today because of the current water issue a that we’ve been having, and I say current but I’m using the term loosely every few months there’s an issue
The group has not disrupted traffic instead they ask motorists to hoot as they drive past.
