WATCH: Man rescued after being trapped in mud for 10 days without food or water

A Florida man who went missing on Valentine’s Day was rescued after being trapped in mud without food or water for 10 days. 

World news correspondent Vicki Turner reported that first responders rescued 36-year-old Andrew Giddens after workers spotted him.

He was found stuck up to his shoulders in mud at a site near a borrow pit at a sand plant.

“He fell into an industrial sand pit and couldn’t get out," explained Turner. "It took the fire department three hours to extract him,” she said. 

In bodycam footage of the rescue shared by the Putnam County Sheriff's Office on social media, Giddens appeared alert and able to communicate.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
