Cape Town is expected to reach a high of 21°C on Friday, with increasing cloud cover through the day.
Winds will blow west-northwest at about 19 km/h, with gusts reaching 48 km/h.
By night, temperatures will drop to around 14°C.
Forecasters say it will be cloudy in the evening with a brief shower or two, before becoming partly cloudy later. The chance of rain increases to 59%, with about 1 mm of precipitation expected.
Southwesterly winds will remain near 19 km/h, with gusts of up to 46 km/h.
Johannesburg will see a cooler, stormy Friday with a high of 20°C.
The forecast calls for thick cloud cover and a thunderstorm.
There is a 70% chance of rain of around 8.5 mm.
Winds will blow from the north at around 13 km/h, with gusts reaching 37 km/h.
At night, temperatures will dip to 15°C. A thunderstorm is expected around the evening, followed by low clouds.
Rainfall of around 1.2 mm is forecast.
Pretoria is expected to see the wettest conditions, with thunderstorms likely during the morning.
Temperatures will climb to around 21°C, but the day will remain cloudy and humid.
Forecasters expect 18.8 mm of rain.
Winds will blow from the north-northeast at about 11 km/h, with gusts of up to 33 km/h.
By night, temperatures will settle at around 17°C, with cloudy skies and thunderstorms continuing.
An additional 8.7 mm of rain is forecast overnight. Winds will remain light at about 6 km/h, with gusts of 24 km/h.
