Johannesburg Water reports that its engineers are closely monitoring the Brixton reservoir system following an operational adjustment that affected the local water supply.
As a result of this adjustment, reservoir levels have dropped significantly and are now critically low.
It remains unclear whether the operational change was planned, but the decline in water levels is substantial.
This could lead to reduced water pressure in several areas, including Auckland Park, Mayfair, Westbury, and surrounding communities.

The Commando system, a critical network of reservoirs, towers, and pump stations in Johannesburg, is currently under significant strain.
The system comprises three main reservoirs: Brixton, Hursthill, and Crosby.
To stabilise the overall system, Johannesburg Water has reduced the supply to the Hursthill reservoir while the Brixton reservoir remains at critically low levels.
While this measure is intended to restore balance, water supply across the city continues to face ongoing challenges.
Residents in areas served by the Brixton and Hursthill reservoirs may experience reduced water pressure as engineers continue to monitor the system's stability.
