The ad hoc committee investigating allegations of police corruption will lay a criminal complaint against forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan for walking out of proceedings.

The committee will also include a charge for sending threatening messages to the chief of staff for the suspended minister, Senzo Mchunu. Cedric Nkabinde, had previously testified against O'Sullivan.

The committee's complaint comes two weeks after the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) laid its own criminal complaint against O'Sullivan for the same offences.

Committee legal advisor Telana Halley-Starkey provided an update to the committee on Wednesday, stating that all necessary documents are currently with the Secretary to Parliament.

"As soon as he signs and commissions it, he will walk all the documents over to the police station and lay a charge," Halley-Starkey said. "And these will include both the Nkabinde matter as well as the disrespect or walkout."
