Durban school gas leak prompts treatment, evacuation of learners

Paramedics in KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) have treated scores of pupils for gas inhalation.
It's believed the gas leaked at a property near a secondary school in Wentworth on Thursday morning.
Advanced Life Support Paramedics' spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson, said: "Paramedics are dealing with multiple casualties that have sustained breathing difficulties, whilst Advanced Life Support Paramedics work to stabilise them on the scene. More ambulances are mobile to assist with the transportation."
He said teaching and learning have been cancelled for the day.
"The eThekwini fire department is in attendance and ensuring the safety of emergency services to work, and the school has been closed and evacuated for the day."
