City of Cape Town cuts contracts with corruption-accused Shaun Roos

The City of Cape Town has terminated all municipal contracts with corruption-accused businessman Shaun Roos amid ongoing internal and police investigations.
Roos, the owner of Triple C Maintenance and Services, is facing allegations of attempting to bribe municipal manager Lungelo Mbandazayo with R4 million.
He was arrested last Tuesday after allegedly handing over R1.4 million during a police sting operation.
Triple C Maintenance and Services previously held multiple contracts with the city, including road maintenance, resurfacing, and stormwater infrastructure projects.

The municipality said it has made alternative arrangements to ensure services continue seamlessly.
City spokesperson Luthando Tyalibongo said corruption would not be tolerated.
"In light of these developments, the city moved immediately to terminate all contracts held by Triple C with the municipality."
The corruption case against Roos has now been postponed to 23 March 2026 for a bail application.
