The SABC has suspended its senior political journalist, Natasha Phiri, following revelations before the Madlanga Commission that she was paid in exchange for information.
After initially denying doing so, Sergeant Fannie Nkosi admitted he paid R500 to Phiri moments after she sent him the contact details of entertainment blogger, Musa Khawula.

In a media statement released this afternoon, the SABC says it views the matter in a serious light and has placed Phiri on precautionary suspension pending an investigation.
