WEATHER: Showers for Cape Town on Tuesday, ‘drenching’ thunderstorms for Gauteng

Cape Town will see a high of 18°C with some sun, then turning cloudy. A couple of showers are expected later, according to AccuWeather.
About 1.2mm of rainfall is expected. Winds are WNW at 17km/h, with gusts up to 48km/h. Cloud cover is 70%.
At night, temperatures will fall to 13°C. A passing shower or two is expected late; about 1.1mm of rainfall is expected.
Westerly winds will blow at 17km/h, with gusts up to 39km/h. Expect cloud cover at 62%.

Johannesburg reaches a high of 21°C under cloudy skies, with a couple of thunderstorms expected in the afternoon.
Rainfall totals could reach 11.9mm, with a high 84% chance of precipitation and a 50% chance of thunderstorms. Winds remain light from the north-northwest at 13km/h, with gusts up to 37km/h. Cloud cover is dense at 97%.
At night, temperatures dip to 12°C. Evening thundershowers are expected to continue, bringing a further 7mm of rain. The chance of precipitation remains elevated at 76%.
Pretoria will be the wettest of the three cities, with a high of 23°C and mostly cloudy conditions. Morning showers will give way to thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Rainfall is expected to be significant at 28.4mm, with a near-certain 99% chance of precipitation and a 65% chance of thunderstorms. Winds will be light from the north at 13km/h.
Conditions worsen into the evening, with a ‘drenching’ thunderstorm expected. Another 20mm of rain is forecast, with cloud cover reaching 100% and an 81% chance of precipitation.
Overnight temperatures will settle at 14°C.
