Following his appearance, Gauteng police have officially called off the search. The development came shortly after search and rescue teams, accompanied by K-9 units and community members, had been deployed to search open velds in Ekurhuleni.
Upon his arrival at the station, Kubheka underwent a formal identification process and was subsequently transported to a hospital, where he was kept overnight for observation.
While the shop owner has been located, the events surrounding his month-long disappearance remain unclear. Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhlwi confirmed that the case is still under active review.
"At this stage, the circumstances surrounding the missing person case are still sketchy and police investigations are underway," Nevhuhlwi stated.
