JOHANNESBURG - Acting Police Minister Firoz Cachalia has pledged that the SAPS will re-arrest Jabulani Moyo, the suspect accused of killing two police officers during an escape from custody.
The detectives were allegedly shot and killed on Friday while they were transporting Moyo back to prison after a court appearance at the Roodepoort Magistrate's Court on a business robbery charge.
Following the fatal attack, Moyo was spotted fleeing in a police vehicle, which was later found abandoned.
Police ministry spokesperson Kamogelo Mogotsi said that a manhunt was launched and officers would not stop until Moyo was found.
"We will not rest until Jabulani Moyo is behind bars. We urge the public to come forward with information on the whereabouts of Jabulani Moyo immediately. No detail is too small, and your assistance could be critical in ensuring that justice is served."
